Today Benedict XVI has a "diplomatic meeting" with Muslim leaders and clerics.
Unfortunately, both Catholics and Muslims feel that this "ecumenical gathering" is little more than "damage control". Let us pray that the spirit of peace and ecumenism that made John Paul II such an effective Pope and spiritual leader may come upon Benedict, so that this gathering may bring reconciliation and understanding.
