Marian Meditation of the Day:
Verse
No other woman from one end of the earth to the other is her equal
in beauty and in wisdom of speech!
-- Jud 11:21
Verse
No other woman from one end of the earth to the other is her equal
in beauty and in wisdom of speech!
-- Jud 11:21

Reflection
Look closely at the Blessed Virgin Mary.
There is nothing of virtue,
nothing of beauty,
nothing of splendour or glory
that does not shine in her.
Prayer
O Mary, you are the Protector of your people.
In times of affliction,
let me always turn to you
with the confident assurance that you will come to my aid.
Amen.
Catholic News Items for Today:
The Israeli Military has stated that it will be completely out of Lebanon today.
Based upon earlier actions on the part of the Israelis (for example their numerous violations of cease fire agreements) I am doubtful if they will really leave southern Lebanon completely.
Let us pray a Rosary that there will be peace in southern Lebanon.
The story as reported at CBS News.com.
The deaths of four U.N. Monitors in Lebanon during the July attacks is now being blamed on Israel.

About the Maronite Church in Lebanon.
The United Nations have reccomended that the U.N. Security Council "impose sanctions on top Sudanese officials for violating peace efforts in Darfur". The U.N. states that these sanctions should be directed at top officals in order to enact change and to least affect the population of Sudan.
It is my fear that these sanctions, like previous cases when sanctions have been imposed upon a nation or government, will only escalate the violence and death. The U.N. should send in a Peacekeeping force as soon as possible to avoid further casualties and destruction.
Pray a Rosary that peace will come to Sudan.
